Hey there Clawfolk! 🦞
One of my favorite things about OpenClaw is watching people build, break, fix, and occasionally do something so wonderfully unexpected with it that the rest of us have to stop and admire the cleverness and skill.
There's an awful lot of energy around this project. Of course, with all that activity comes a familiar problem: Where the heck do you start?
Maybe you've found a bug but don't know who's working on it. Maybe you've got some time to contribute but aren't sure what needs attention. Or maybe you've been watching everything happen at approximately eleven thousand miles an hour, wondering where you fit into the whole universe of clawtastic development happening at lightspeed?
Well, we've got an idea.
A Spoonful of Focus Goes a Long Way
We're launching Focus Weeks! Each week, we'll pick an area of the OpenClaw roadmap, put a Maintainer on-point, and invite the community to pile in. Just a little directionality for all that chaotic, wonderful, crustaceanic energy.
Code, bug reports, testing, documentation, accessibility feedback, all of it counts! Each week gets a public community thread where we can compare notes, coordinate efforts, and hopefully get a few more things across the finish line together.
More Claws in the Machine
Here's the other part I'm especially and particularly excited about. We're inviting a select group of rotating Clawtributors into a shared OpenClaw Team environment to work alongside us!
These folks have already demonstrated a knack for contributing, and we're giving them temporary guest access and direct contact with the team.
Why? Well, we're building OpenClaw with OpenClaw, and we'd like to see what happens when more people start using our Team and multiplayer capabilities for actual collaborative work.
What's intuitive? What's clunky? Where does sharing context work as it should, and where does it leave somebody wondering what in tarnation they’ve stumbled into? We want to know. All of it.
Congratulations to our initial group! You'll find them recognized in this week's Focus Week thread.
And importantly, you don't need an invitation to participate in Focus Weeks. The team environment is invite-only for now, but everything else is open to everybody.
ICYMI: What’s an OpenClaw Team Server?
An OpenClaw Team server changes the equation of running solo to solve a problem. People and their agents can work in a shared environment through sessions, share context, and pick up where someone else left off. Even pull requests can carry the context of the conversations that produced them.
For Focus Weeks, that means invited Clawtributors working directly alongside our Maintainers in shared sessions, inside the very tool we’re improving!
First Up: Get the Controls Under Control
Our first Focus Week runs October 19–25, 2026, focused on the Control UI, with Vyctor Brzezowski as Maintainer on point.
Pick an existing issue or put the web UI through its paces. Change a setting. Try a setup. Navigate with only a keyboard. Find the spot where the workflow requires an unnecessary interpretive dance or the documentation cheerfully abandons you halfway through.
You don't need to show up bearing a polished PR. A clear "here's what I tried, here's what I expected, and here's what happened" is tremendously useful. Check GitHub for existing issues, share your findings, and drop into the Focus Week thread to compare notes.
At the end of the week, we'll share what got done, what still needs attention, and what we learned about working together this way. Whether you're one of our invited Clawtributors, a seasoned contributor, or somebody looking for an excuse to make their first contribution, come on in.
The thread is open, there's plenty to do, and we've got a whole lot of claws to put to work.
Let's rally the claws and get the controls under control! 🦞
